Who We Are
We are an Indigenous not for profit looking to empower indigenous enterprise, preserve indigenous culture and build a brighter future for indigenous Australians
Founding Director Gavin Close, is a Yelgun Githabul of Bundjalung and respected community leader in Sydney Wangal Gadigal, where he resides. With over 20 years experience in construction and property development, his company https://yelgunconstructions.com.au stands as testament to his drive and will to succeed. His aims and visions are to make a better Australia for all, by connecting indigenous and non indigenous Australians through employment and educational opportunities.
Ilan Bermeister is the firstborn Australian in his bloodlines. In 2007/08 he walked from Sydney, Gadigal to Byron Bay, Bundjalung in 36 days for a cousins wedding and on to Brisbane after. He learned the luxury of a cup of coffee, that there’s no boredum in the bush, and no higher honour as an Australian than to serve her First Peoples. A public servant by nature, he has worked in local government for several councils in wellbeing community services, including working in the remote Northern Territory communities of Borroloola and Gunbalanya.

- Other Social Enterprises
Borroloola House – We wish to establish an urban academy to help support and facilitate the dreams of remote indigenous talents and their families by facilitating access to the education and employment opportunities that the city has to offer. At the same time the academy acts as a social hub for the scholars and local indigenous Australians through activities promoting healthy living, knowledge sharing, arts and culture. We hope that through this program that we are also able to facilitate remote traditional cultural educational experiences for our urban participants through a cultural exchange program. Documenting these journeys and sharing these experiences and stories will help us in our objective to preserve the worlds oldest living culture.
The First Nations Games – We wish to contribute and be witness to a sporting extravaganza, where individuals and teams have the opportunity to represent their Country on country, and hope to be able to invite indigenous teams from abroad too. This mass gathering and sharing of culture as well as showcasing our talents on the national and global stage will help us to achieve our objectives.
